I am thinking today of the rise and fall of Nations. As we see the “wars and rumors of wars” taking place almost daily, we are aware that wars are totally about winning and losing. Wars are won or lost. If your nation is on the losing side, nothing will ever be the same again. Defeated nations sometimes keep the same name, but they

Church in Ruhuha, Rwanda
This photo is of a churchnear the Burundi border in Rwanda The church was planted by Ezechias Muhizi, using the Jesus film in the nearby village. The existing building had no seating, no doors or windows. About 80 people are crammed into what will become educational space and pastor’s study. This spring, Global Outreach (Tom) sent funds to finish this space and buy chairs.

It has been a week since I wrote about American’s possible intervention in the Syrian conflict. Since that time President Obama has met with Russia’s Putin and other world leaders seeking allies in his efforts to strike a blow against Syria’s President Assad. Our friends are not interested. Only France , Canada and a few lessor lights are willing to aim their gun fights

I know you are thinking about Syria; if not, you should be! During the last few days it seems all roads lead to Damascus. What a tangled mess that place is. One US Senator remarked about the Syrian civil war, “It is hard to find the “white hat” guys in all of this.” Many of my friends are asking me, “whose side should we

Today I am thinking of the word “lost.” Have you ever been lost? I mean really, truly lost? I have and it is a scary feeling. Not fun! Years ago, I was deer hunting with my young teenage son by my side. While in New Mexico, we went walking out from camp one very foggy, rainy morning. After about two hours of walking through

If you are like me, you really are tired of bad news! The world news is a daily bad story of a fallen, broken human race trying hard to destroy itself on the altar of its own greed, pride, and shameless selfishness. We watch the news of wars and rumors of wars, tribal conflicts, and natural disasters and wonder where all this is leading

I last wrote that it is a bad day to be a witch doctor. My meaning was that the kingdom of light is dispelling the kingdoms of darkness- especially in East Africa where the Gospel is marching forward like a conquering army. In the Serengeti corridor of western Tanzania we have seen the advance of the Gospel among the Sukuma, Kuria and other neighboring

Most folks have never met a witch doctor, I have met several. Really I have. In the bush of a thousand African villages, the most powerful person in town is the witch doctor. However, this is not the time in history to choose “witching” as a vocation. Those shamans I have met, have also met their match in the power of the Holy Spirit.

I once knew a girl named Joy. In high school we dated a few times. Her name was a misnomer for sure. She was not a joy…in fact she was a grouch! Unlike Snow White’s seven dwarfs- names don’t make character. Happy is not always happy and Dopey is- well he is an exception! Once a dope always a dope 😉 I digress, back

Proposition #3 I can never be called a failure, when God chooses to call me His child.” Romans 5:8 …while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 8:1…there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:33…who will bring a charge against God’s elect? My personal observation: Males (men) are harder on themselves than women. Why? Because men are
