- Because of the Jews within our culture and our support of Israel.
- Christianity became the mother of Western culture (it too rising out of Judaism) and on the day of Mohamed (the Prophet 7th cent.). The only Christianity he saw was medieval Roman Catholicism.
- The enlightenment in Europe and America advanced individual freedom and freedom of thought.
- Post-modernism makes each man (or woman) a law up to themselves, meaning there are no absolutes– which flies in the Face of the Koran.
- Democracy espouses separation of church and state. The clergy have no authority in a secular state. Islam teaches the opposite. Especially Shiite Islam which follows the teaching of the prophet Mohamed and their immediate Iman (pastor).
- Islam was born married to the state- and by its nature it is authoritarian. In most instances Islam is as much political as religious. It must have state power to control its people thru Sharia law. With plurality and freedom as the government- Islam whithers and dies.
- Islam must hate a culture like America which is underpinned by Biblical values, but totally allows for individual freedoms to believe as we choose.
- Islam is a clergy driven culture, whereas the West is driven by secular laws that allow its citizens freedom to think, and chose how they will believe, act, dress and live.
- Islam espouses “the will of Allah” meaning it believes in fate and destiny as impossible to resist. Not so in the West. The individual is the master of his fate by free will choices.
- Islam is totalitarian– no dissent, no other ideas are tolerated. No other religion is permitted. America is pluralistic and allows even Muslims to practice their faith as long as they respect the rights of others.
- Often, Islam associates the progress and enlightenment of the west with an imperialistic and christian threat to Sharia law. Thusthey hate us for our looking at them as “unenlightened” and medieval.
- Islam’s origins are basically tribal- They are the sons of Ismael. Muhamed was an Abab and Allah was the moon god in a polytheistic Arab culture. Thus the Crescent as the symbol of Islam. This tribalism lends itself to following a chieftain, who has become the prophet or Iman as his successor.
- Many Muslims feel we invade Arab countries to steal the oil and other resources. They do NOT see us as liberators, but as invading imperialists.
- Muslim’s see our support of corrupt dictatorships as exploitative to gain their minerals.
- Example 1: we supported the Shah of Iran, to prevent a Islamic republic.
- Example 2: The USA supported Sadaam Hussein against Iran because we needed the Iragie oil. Muslims see this as imperialistic and against Islam.
- Muslims are quick to declare the difference between Religion (Islam) and culture.
- Example: Afghanistan has a law making it legal for a man to rape his wife. Muslim’s say this is culture not the teachings of Islam.
Application: we too, must learn not to associate Christianity with American culture. They are NOT the same.
