Several of our staff have begun to train with a new portable media distribution system from Renew World Outreach, called the LightStream. This technology allows our Pastors and Disciple Leaders to create a full featured “digital library” from which Gospel media can be shared on mobile devices in an off-the-grid environment without depending on access to internet or electricity.
Pictured on the left are Willert Delgone, Martin Odindo and David Muhkaye. David and Martin have had several successful tests of this equipment and still are only scratching the surface of the spreading the Word of God using mobile technology. Already, they have distributed Bibles, Gospel films like the Jesus Film, and education materials in several public outreach meetings, all without needing a connection to the internet.
A recent study by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) determined that Africa is the fastest growing market for new mobile phone use and as this growth continues, our staff will continue to use every available means to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
