In 2003, BWM learned of eleven villages along the borders of the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. These villages of the Sukuma people practiced much witchcraft & spiritual darkness existed there. Our survey found only one smal church for those 11 villages of 15,000 people. The Sukuma are farmers & cattle herders, and live in near poverty. There is little clean water to drink. Many Children die from sicknesses related to bad water & malaria.

In 2004 BWM adopted the Serengeti Corridor Project {SCP} - a six year plan to reach these 11 villages for Christ. Since then, BWM has led missions, evangelism, medical teams, and Aids education in six of the villages. Seven churches have been planted in the SCP. Thousands have been saved and churches are meeting now with over 1000 in attendance each week.

Now BWM is drilling water wells for villages that have never had clean water. As of December 2008, we have four good wells producing water for thousands. We want to drill more strategic wells for neighboring villagers to share. Eventually all 15,000 Sukuma in the SCP will have clean life giving water.

The geology in the Serengeti area makes drilling thru granite rock very expensive. The good water is deep- 300 feet or more, and a well can cost $6000-$8000 to complete. The village of Mwabayanda now has a Christian community of 200 believers but no place to worship and no water to drink except from small ponds that cattle & wild animals drink from. The sub surface water is deep here and will cost $12,000 to drill a well, but BWM is believing God to build a church house here and put a Well beside it. All we need is the funding & it will happen.

In 2010, we purpose to move ahead with more drilling for water, and also add Rain Water Retention systems to schools in the SCP. Each school water system will cost about $2700. Already three schools have clean water God provided thru ministry partners.

May God open Heavens’ blessings upon this project to establish the Kingdom of God among the Sukuma.

Maybe you can help us drill wells in the Serengeti. Every donation is helpful and needed.
